Answer:

290 children and 151 adults

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

let the number of children be x

and the number of adults be y

total number of people= 442

x+y= 442---------1

<em>The daily prices are $1.75 for children and $2.00 for adults. The receipts for admission totaled $811.25</em>

1.75x+2y= 811.25--------2

solve 1 and 2

x+y= 442

1.75x+2y= 811.25

from 1, x= 442-y

put this in 2

1.75(442-y)+2y= 811.25

773.5-1.75y+2y=811.25

collect like terms

773.5+0.25y=811.25

0.25y= 811.25-773.5

0.25y= 37.75

y= 37.75/0.25

y= 151

put y= 151 in 1

x+151= 442

x= 442-152

x= 290

Hence there were 290 children and 151 adults

Write the square of the binomial as a polynomial: (-1 1/3p + 6q)^2
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

\frac{16}{9}p² -16pq + 36q²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(- \frac{4}{3}p + 6q)²

= (- \frac{4}{3}p + 6q)(- \frac{4}{3}p + 6q)

Each term in the second factor is multiplied by each term in the first factor, that is

- \frac{4}{3}p(- \frac{4}{3}p + 6q) + 6q(- \frac{4}{3}p + 6q)

= \frac{16}{9}p² - 8pq - 8pq + 36q² ← collect like terms

= \frac{16}{9}p² - 16pq + 36q²

Can anyone help me out with proofs ? If B is midpoint of AC and D is the midpoint of CE prove BD is parallel AE.
stepan [7]
BD is parallel to AE because the lines are not touching each other, if you extend the lines if BD and AE they would not touch therefore making BD and AE parallel.
