Answer:

Structural racism has been and continues to be the primary impediment to upward mobility for African Americans throughout the country. This form of racism explains how race and racism permeate both public and private institutions to create unequal outcomes in all facets of life. Structural racism manifests in many ways, including employment discrimination,6 disparities in the criminal justice system,7 disparities in health outcomes,8 and disparities in the education system.9 These issues are particularly pronounced within rural parts of the South. For example, rural residents must travel further to receive health services,1and mass incarceration has been increasing in rural counties—primarily due to pretrial detention. article from the Brookings Institution shows that historical policies such as redlining and exclusion from the GI Bill have disadvantaged African Americans; and the long-term impacts of these policies continue to reverberate in a variety of ways.12 To this day, explicit discrimination against African Americans through Jim Crow policies and residential segregation has implications for employment and wealth-building activities.13 For example, in the run-up to the Great Recession, African Americans were targeted for subprime mortgage loans and were therefore at a greater risk for foreclosure during the housing collapse

What was the name of the puritan group that wanted to separate from the church of england?
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

Pilgrims

Explanation:

The Pilgrims were one Separatist group that left England in the early 1600s to escape persecution. The Pilgrims moved to the Netherlands in 1608. The Pilgrims were immigrants—people who have left the country of their birth to live in another country. The Pilgrims were glad to be able to practice their religion freely. They were not happy, however, that their children were learning the Dutch language and culture. The Pilgrims feared that their children would forget their English traditions. The Pilgrims decided to leave Europe altogether. They formed a jointstockcompany with some merchants and then received permission from England to settle in Virginia. On September 16, 1620, a ship called the Mayflowerleft England with more than 100 men women, and children aboard. Not all of these colonists were Pilgrims. However, Pilgrim leaders such as William Bradfordsailed with the group.

2. Whom did the New Deal help the least? What hardships did these individuals continue to suffer? Why were Roosevelt’s programs
victus00 [196]

Answer:

Roosevelt was accused of Bolshevism by his opponents, and many anti-crisis methods were sharply criticized. They criticized the direction of the New Deal against business; many rightly believed that the new policy hampered the restoration of the economic system. Despite all efforts, unemployment continued to increase: if it were not for the increase in salary costs caused by the New Deal, the unemployment rate in the country as of 1940 would be lower by 8 percentage points.

Ordinary citizens were directly affected by the increase in alcohol duties and wage deductions for social security. Roosevelt further increased the tax burden by raising income tax for individuals and legal entities, excise taxes, property taxes and donated property. He introduced undistributed profit tax. All these ‘requisitions’ led to a reduction in the amount of money that entrepreneurs could spend on expanding production and creating new jobs.
