Is the subject- verb agreement correct? A friendly smile and a firm handshake was working well for Eric.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

A friendly smile and a firm handshake were working well for Eric

Explanation:

A friendly smile and a firm handshake was working well for Eric.

this is wrong

because A friendly smile is different and a firm handshake is also different

so we need to use were instead of was

so a true sentence will be:

A friendly smile and a firm handshake were working well for Eric.

How does the introduction support the function of the paper?
aleksklad [387]
The introduction is the beginning of an essay , when the readers read your essay the introduction is basically going to tell them the main idea or the plot , the introduction supports the whole thing that you are writing , basically you are giving all the things that are going to be discuss.Without this the whole body of the text is not going to be explicit as necessary .

Read this source of information.
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

(4) Some studies suggest that texting doubles a driver’s reaction time to roadway hazards.

Explanation:

Sentence (4) states that some studies have suggested that if drivers text during driving, their reaction time to roadways hazards doubles as compared to when they don't text during driving.

Sentence 1, and 2 do not say anything about texting.

Sentence 3 although talks about text conversation as a common distraction, but it does not suggest impairing the drivers as strongly as it does in sentence (4) i.e doubling the response time.
