I want to be a diabetic eduactor or nurse. I am a type one diabetic (not caused by diet and is autoimmune) and have always wanted to help people. It sounds selfish, but when I help I feel better bout what I am doing and who I am. Not only this but when I was diagnosed, the diabetic educators were sooo helpful. There was one especially, who had the same thing that I did, that took me to the side and explained it to me. She told me what my body was going through and how I could help it. It was really helpful, and I want to be that person for someone else.
This is significant because the absence of everyone else marks how few friends Gatsby really had. For all the people he knew and entertained, only Nick and a man who admired Gatsby's library were in attendance. This is also significant because it illustrates how few true friends we are actually blessed with during our lifetimes
