On April 1, 2018, John Vaughn purchased appliances from the Acme Appliance Company for $1,200. In order to increase sales, Acme
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

The monthly payment necessary for John to pay for his purchases is $88.4 per month

Explanation:

Fixed Installment payment for a fixed period period of time with a specified interest rate is the type of annuity.

According to given data

Present value of appliance= PV = $1,200

Numbers of Payments = n = 18 months

Interest rate = r = 24% annually = 2% monthly

Value on October 1, 2018 = 1200 x ( 1 + 2%)^6-1 = 1,325

Monthly payment can be calculated by using following fomula

PV of annuity = P x [ ( 1- ( 1+ r )^-n ) / r ]

$1,325 = P x [ ( 1- ( 1+ 2% )^-18 ) / 2% ]

$1,325 = P x [ ( 1- ( 1+ 0.02 )^-18 ) / 0.02 ]

$1,325 = P x [ ( 1- ( 1.02 )^-18 ) / 0.02 ]

$1,325 = P x [ ( 1- ( 1.02 )^-18 ) / 0.02 ]

$1,325 = P x 14.992

P = $1,325 / 14.992

P = $88.4

Michael Barry, Attorney, P.C. began the year with total assets of $126,000, liabilities of $74,000, and stockholders’ equity of
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

The expenses can be recorded as follows;

Debit to the expenses of $33,000 and a credit to the cash account of $33,000.

Explanation:

The accounting equation is an equation that tends to balance a company's assets on one side and the sum of its liabilities and shareholders equity on the opposite side of the equation. It form the basis for the double-entry system in accounting that includes an accounts debit and credit. The debit is a sum to an amount that is owed, it is usually listed on the left hand-side of an account while the credit is a listing of a sum that is received usually on the right hand side of an account.

In the case of Michael Barry, the accounting equation;

Assets=liabilities+stockholders equity

Assets=$126,000

Liabilities=$74,000

Stockholders equity=$52,000

liabilities+stockholders equity=74,000+52,000=$126,000

The assets equals the sum of the liabilities and stockholders equity.

To record expenses paid of $33,000;

                            Debit           Credit

Expenses          $33,000

Cash                                       $33,000

Increasingly, people are buying more fuel-efficient cars that burn less gasoline per mile. This seves people money
Sliva [168]
As the gas prices increase, the demand for electric and fuel efficient cars has greatly increased. People want to avoid spending more money than needed. With new advancements being made technologically, there is not much of a demand for cars that require excessive gasoline.
These new advancements have created a new era of automobiles which in turn creates job openings and economic growth in the auto industry.
Personally, I would rather purchase an electric car, or a car that is more fuel efficient to save more money in the long run.
