Deep water rises along the coast of Peru to replace surface water carried away from the coast by strong winds. Why is upwelling
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Upwelling is important to mix the nutrients that are present deep inside the water.Updewelling is a phenomenon in which the deeper water rises and gets mixed to the surface water to promote the growth of phytoplanktons and seaweeds as the water that is present deep inside is rich in nutrients. These phytoplanktons serve as as source  of energy for large fishes and other aquatic animals. As these large animals are higher in population and are an important part of food chain and they also provide food to different marine mammals ,sea birds. The deep water infuses  with costal water so to serve as a fuel for high productivity of marine ecosystem.

What is one difference between a cell wall and cell membrane
icang [17]

The correct answer is:

a cell wall is only included on the plant cell

the cell membrane is included in both plant and animal cells

Explanation:

The cell wall is the outer most integument of the cell. The cell wall covers the cell membrane. The cell membrane is also known as the plasma membrane or plasmalemma. There is no another name for the cell wall. The cell membrane is being in almost all types of cells.

The purpose of the cell membrane is the equivalent as that of the skin. It leaves the elements inside the cell from the outside. The cell membrane provides assistance to the cytoskeleton of the cell, gives shape to the cell, and helps in the formation of tissues by adding the matrix located in the extracellular. It allows the passage of a certain substance.A cell membrane is incorporated by the cell wall which forms the outer most integument.

Earth is a beautiful planet that revolves around a star called Sun, which is located in one of the arms of our Milky Way Galaxy. It is the only planet known to support life in the Solar System. Humans are the most intelligent civilization on this planet. It's blue when seen from space. Recently, Earth 29 spacecraft was able to land on this planet, after 28 unsuccessful landings of Earth series of spacecrafts. We were able to learn many things about humans, most important of these was the most spoken language of them, which they call English. According to experts, humans are not yet ready to know about our existence. It can take about 1 or 2 more centuries, until they are ready to know about us.

Match the following.
valkas [14]

Answer:

1 . The stage on the first meiotic division when the homologous chromosomes move to opposite poles but the sister chromatids remain together

: b. Anaphase I

2 . The stage in the second meiotic division where sister chromatids migrate to opposite poles

: c. Anaphase II

3 . A structure on the chromosome that holds a pair of chromatids together during replication

: f. centromere

4 . A double-stranded chromosome following replication attached by a centromere

: d. chromatid

5 . A condition where non-sister chromatid of homologous chromosomes exchange genes

: e. crossing over

6 . The stage in the first meiotic division where the homologous chromosomes line up as a pair

: a. Metaphase I

7 . The stage in the second meiotic division where the chromatid pair lines up at the equator of the cell: g. Metaphase II

Explanation:

DNA replication occurs during the S phase of the interphase of the cell cycle. The replicated DNA molecules are accommodated in two sister chromatids of a chromosome that are held together by a centromere.

During prophase I, the chromatids of a homologous chromosome pair exchange a genetic segment. This process is called crossing over. It generates recombinant chromatids with new combinations of genes.

Metaphase I of meiosis I includes the alignment of homologous pairs of chromosomes at the cell's equator. This is followed by separation and movement of homologous chromosomes to the opposite poles of the cell during anaphase I.

Metaphase II of meiosis II includes the alignment of individual chromosomes, each with two sister chromatids, on the cell's equator. During anaphase II, splitting centromere separates the sister chromatids which then move to the opposite poles of the cell.
