A wave is the energy emission itself.

Explanation:

When talking about waves many think automatically about ocean waves or surface waves within large bodies of water. However, on a deeper scale of understanding, energy itself is in a form of wave. Which is measured by frequency, altitude, and wavelength. These measurements determine a waves energy levels. It is important to remember that there are variety of energies or waves (such as microwaves, x-rays, ultraviolet, infrared, visible light, etc..), and each wave has a specific measurement in terms of frequency altitude, and wavelength.
