A student is concerned with the amount of air pollution students are exposed to in the school’s parking lot after school. The st

udent conducts an investigation to compare the quantity of particulate matter released from the diesel-powered buses, natural gas-powered buses, and the large and small cars as they idle waiting to pick up students. To make measurements, a small piece of white fabric is used to collect particulate matter from the tailpipe of each vehicle as it idles for five minutes. Each piece of fabric is then analyzed to measure the amount of particulate matter it collected.
(g) Identify the dependent variable in the investigation.
(h) Identify the hypothesis of the investigation.
(i) Describe a possible control group for this investigation.

Answer and Explanation:

The dependent variable is the amount of particulate matter emitted by each type of car. Dependent variable is one that needs to be influenced by the independent variable to happen. The types of cars are the main influencers of the particulate particles to which the research refers, which means that these particles only exist with the influence of these cars, making them dependable.

The research hypothesis is "Students are exposed to high levels of pollution in the school parking lot." A hypothesis is an assumption made by the researcher of the research. This assumption must be answered by the experiment carried out and it is related to the researcher's questions in relation to the researched subject.

Why the absorption above?

Note that a lot of the the compounds that are used in making plastics been found to change the hormones of some people and they also have other potential human health effects.

Therefore, Plastic debris, are known to be laced with some kind of chemicals and they tend to be ingested by marine animals, and this can be able to injure or poison wildlife as well as humans who consume these wildlife.

ASAP HURRY Drag the descriptions of each investment in order from which will earn the least simple interest to which will earn t
Nady [450]

The descriptions of each investment from least to greatest are:

 • An investment of 1,200 at a 6% interest rate for 9 years- A = $1,848.00.
 • An investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 5 years- A = $1,920.00.
 • An investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 9 years - A = $2,496.00.

What is the investment about?

An investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 5 years will be:

I = A - P = $720.00

Note that:

A = P(1 + rt)

Therefore,

r = R/100 = 12%/100 = 0.12 per year.

So:

A = 1200(1 + (0.12 × 5)) = 1920

A = $1,920.00

So, The total amount accrued, principal plus interest, from simple interest on a principal of $1,200.00 at a rate of 12% per year for 5 years is $1,920.00.

At an investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 9 years:

A = $2,496.00

I = A - P = $1,296.00

Note that

A = P(1 + rt)

Therefore:

r = R/100 = 12%/100 = 0.12 per year.

So:

A = 1200(1 + (0.12 × 9)) = 2496

A = $2,496.00

Therefore, the total amount accrued, principal plus interest, from simple interest on a principal of $1,200.00 at a rate of 12% per year for 9 years is $2,496.00.

At an investment of 1,200 at a 6% interest rate for 9 years.

Note that:

I = A - P = $648.00

The Equation is:

A = P(1 + rt)

Therefore,

r = R/100 = 6%/100 = 0.06 per year.

So

A = 1200(1 + (0.06 × 9)) = 1848

A = $1,848.00

So, The total amount accrued, principal plus interest, from simple interest on a principal of $1,200.00 at a rate of 6% per year for 9 years is $1,848.00.

So, the descriptions of each investment from least to greatest are:

 • An investment of 1,200 at a 6% interest rate for 9 years- A = $1,848.00.
 • An investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 5 years- A = $1,920.00.
 • An investment of 1,200 at a 12% interest rate for 9 years - A = $2,496.00.

In comparing the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy with fossil fuels based electricity generation plants, do you th
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Considering the following conditions;

1. Efficiency and Reliability

2. Availability of Resources

3. Emissions

4. Generating Electricity

Weighing nuclear energy and fossil fuels base on the above factors, nuclear energy represents a preferable option

1. Resources Availability

Uranium which is one of the most readily available source of energy is the major energy of nuclear energy and it's renewable and can be reprocessed.

While Fossil Fuels are non-renewable.

2. Emissions:

When electricity is being generated, nuclear energy is much more cleaner than Fossil energy.

3. Efficiency and Reliability:

As mentioned above, uranium powers the nuclear energy. Uranium atom can be splitted to form a nuclear energy, leading to a chain reaction called nuclear fission.

Organic reminants of plants and animals led to the formation of fossil fuels.

4. Generating Electricity

Both nuclear and fossil fuel power plants produce electricity the same way but the resources of fossil fuels is limited.
