The U.S. had been a decisive force in the English and French winning the war and had revealed its vast industrial might. It was well positioned to come out of the shadows and take over the baton of premier world power from Great Britain. It showed the world that when in time America can buckle down and mass produce everything it needed, fast. Ammunition, Tanks, planes, Artillery, all of these were being produced by a unprecedented level and it showed the world that america can beat anyone.

This region was also politically unstable as there were different ethnicities and there was also rising nationalism in the region. Nationalism brought about tensions. There was also rising Serbian nationalist groups. Combined with the brinkmanship of the European Powers the area became a fuse to the powder keg that Europe had become. The Balkans has strong Cultural, Religious, and language ties to the surrounding Empires but they were in small pockets making nation building difficult.

Both Germany and Japan rose to power between WW II and both were due to nationalism. The government structures were different though - Germany had a President while Japan had an emperor as head of state. Hilter had more power as he controlled the legislature while it was the other way round in Japan.

Japan wanted more resources as the island did not have much so they wanted to invade China. Germany suffered after WW I and wanted to push back other countries. Both used nationalism as an excuse for their aggressive actions. These are the <span>similarities and differences between the two.
