Who says this: "What mean you, foolish girl? Dost thou deem it misery to be endowed with marvelous gifts, against which no power
Anika [276]

Answer:

Rappaccini said these lines.

Explanation:

Nathaniel Hawthorne's short story "Rappaccini's daughter" tells the story of a scientist Giacomo Rappaccini who selfishly kept his daughter Beatrice confined with him in his experimentation with poisonous plants. Along the way, she also became poisonous for other people, herself being immune to the poison of the plants.

Beatrice had began to love a young man named Giovanni, but is fatal for him. She wants to be with him but hadn't realized that he had also became just like her. The excerpt is from when Rappaccini asked her why she claimed to be miserable when she had been endowed with something that no one else has. He could not understand why Beatrice wants to be like a "weak woman, exposed to all evil, and capable of none". According to him, he had given her the greatest gift of being able to withstand any poison but can be destructive over others, whereas she wants to be like other women who can love openly and be like them.

                                               SHORT STORY

Hey there! My name is Millie. I will share you a story that was a real incidence in my life. One day, my phone ranged continuously and the phone was vibrating a lot. I took the phone and my friends were having a group call, I picked it up, Hey! How are you? you know we always talked like best friends. Me and my all friends were all planning for a trip to beach. Of course I said yes for the trip. I started packing my stuff for the trip. It was Monday and I was in car, I was prepared with my camera for some good pics. Soon we reached and we were finding a good place to sit and keep our things. My eyes caught attention towards a tunnel that was closed. I asked about this to my friend, she didn't knew anything but she ignored it. I was so hypnotized towards, cause it was like it was calling out to me. I kept staring on it for a long time. When my friends decided to go near to the seashore, I decided to have a look in that tunnel. I went in near to it and saw "Closed do not enter this cave". I was sad I couldn't go in, but suddenly I saw a blue light that was usually a dot that was flying in the air. I was so amazed to look at it and followed it. I entered the tunnel and no one ever knew this. When my friends were searching for me, they called my family and the police, helplessly they told everything whatever happened. My best friend said that I had asked about that tunnel and police suspected it. They got to know that I had entered the tunnel as my footprints were seen. They called the rescue people and entered the tunnel but as it was unexpected it was DEAD END! The police and the people were so confused that where could I have gone? But whatever happened I never returned. My family were in deep pain and friends were a feeling a great guilt leaving me behind.

I understood now that I shouldn't have entered the tunnel though the message was written....

This story is written by me when I became a wandering soul.

I had died on 19th July 2019.
