How does the following lines contrast the point of view Of the batter and pitcher on the deciding pitch?
Sergio039 [100]

They show that the batter doesn't overthink the situation, but the pitcher is being picky.

In the Batter's line he says that he just reacts in the moment. This shows that he does not spend a lot of time thinking about the situation. It also shows that he may not be smarter about the situation. It doesn't show the batter is not prepared or that he knows how important it is. The pitcher doesn't think the call to throw a slider is a good choice so he shakes it off. His exclamation that none of the pitches will work shows his frustration over the choices. He is being picky and can't seem to agree on the type of pitch to throw.

Should driving while talking on a cell phone be illegal? I wish to comment on the recent ordinance passed by City Council that b
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

I think the answer is to persuade.

might be to inform as well.

Explanation:

I think it is to persuade because the author asks the question "why should a car be any different?"  as to let the readers imagination run with it.

I also think it may be to inform because the author says "driving while talking on the phone is dangerous" so the author could be saying I don't think its a good idea to have a phone in the car and this is why.

I could be wrong but that is what I think

What is the difference between before and now
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

See explanation!

Explanation:

When using the term before, you are referring to something that has most likely happened in the past, specifically prior to another event. For example, your 15th birthday would happen before your 16th birthday because your 15th birthday would come first. Another example would be when you think about how you get ready for your day. You would most likely get dressed before you leave your house in the morning.

When using the term now, you are referring to what is happening at this exact moment in time. For example, if I was driving at the moment then I would say, "I'm driving right now." If you were in math class and someone called you and asked what you were doing, you'd say, "I'm in math class now." Hope this helps!
