One example of corruption that is highly prevalent is nepotism -- political figures and other persons of power will use their influence in order to find positions of influence for their friends and family that are generally well renumerated and/or allow the person to grow their sphere of influence and to tilt the balance of decision making on government spending and allocating resources in their favor.
