ther a hundred-dollar bill. He wanted her to find a buckle with his initial ‘T’ for Tommy. He was a congenial man, but I thought we should have been spending our time looking for things to buy ourselves. [2] I saw dresses and blouses like the colors of the finest jewels alongside beautiful paper flowers and silver jewelry. Every time we stopped at a jewelry booth, my mother looked for the belt buckle. [3] “What can I get as a souvenir?” I asked my mother after we visited the third or fourth booth.
