Answer: y=5x/2 - 2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m=(-2.5-2.5)/(0-2)

m=-5/(-2)

m=5/2

y=mx+b

y=5x/2 + b

-2.5=5(0)/2 + b

-2.5=0 + b

b=-2.5

y=5x/2 - 2.5

Is the sequence geometric? if so, identify the common ratio 1/5,2/15,4/45,8/135,16/405,...
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]
So have the sequence: \frac{1}{5} , \frac{2}{15} , \frac{4}{45} , \frac{8}{135} , \frac{16}{145} ,...
To check if the sequence is geometric, we are going to find its common ratio; to do it we are going to use the formula: r= \frac{a_{n} }{a_{n-1}}
where
r is the common ratio
a_{n} is the current term in the sequence
a_{n-1} is the previous term in the sequence
In other words we are going to divide the current term by the previous term a few times, and we will to check if that ratio is the same:

For a_{n}= \frac{2}{15} and a_{n-1}= \frac{1}{5}:
r= \frac{ \frac{2}{15} }{ \frac{1}{5} }
r= \frac{2}{3}

For a_{n}= \frac{4}{45} and a_{n-1}= \frac{2}{15}:
r= \frac{ \frac{4}{45} }{ \frac{2}{15} }
r= \frac{2}{3}

For a_{n}= \frac{8}{135} and a_{n-1}= \frac{4}{45}:
r= \frac{ \frac{8}{135} }{ \frac{4}{45} }
r= \frac{2}{3}
As you can see, we have a common ratio!

We can conclude that our sequence is a geometric sequence and its common ratio is \frac{2}{3}

Devin signs a note for a discounted loan agreeing to pay $2,700 in 6 months at a discount rate of 7%. Determine the amount of th
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

discount= $94.5

Proceeds=$2605.5

Step-by-step explanation:

amount Dawin has to pay= $2700

in 6 months time

at a discount rate of 7%

here future value = $2700

D= discount before m months is given by

D= \frac{FV\times r\times m}{1200}

m= 6 months, r= 7% and FV= 2700

putting values

D= \frac{2700\times 7\times 6}{1200}

solving we get

D= $94.5

now present value = future value - discount

=2700-94.5= $ 2605.5

here PV(present valve )= Proceeds= $2605.5

How many solutions does the system of equations have?
statuscvo [17]
5x - 20y = 60...reduce by dividing by 5
x - 4y = 12
this is the same as the other equation....therefore, it is the same line...meaning infinite solutions
=============
y - 7x = -14
y = 7x - 14.....slope = 7, y int = -14

7y - 49x = -2
7y = 49x - 2
y = 7x - 2/7.....slope is 7, y int is -2/7

if the slopes are the same, but the y int are different, then u have a parallel lines with no solutions
