Ebobo, as they called him, was an adult male with no family group to care for. He needed a family and was searching for females. Ebobo was probably bored and lonely. He was looking for some company. The gorilla would come about once a month, and that frightened some of the camp workers. They begged Fay to let them kill the gorille. They thought Ebobo was dangerous and a threat. Fay told them not to harm Ebobo, that he wouidn't hurt them.
