A gardener has 60 feet of fencing to keep
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

225 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

From what we have in the question, we have 60 ft of fencing

To maximize the area, we will need to have a square

For a square, the length of all sides are equal

Let us call one of the sides s

Thus, from the perimeter of the square;

4s = 60

s = 60/4

s = 15 ft

The area is thus, the product of the side length of the square

15 * 15 = 225 ft^2

Roberts plants tomatoes and radishes in the areas shown in the model below
77julia77 [94]

Complete Question:

Mrs. Roberts plants tomatoes and radishes in the areas shown in the model below.

Tomatoes: 35\ acres

Radishes: 28\ acres

Which expression is equivalent to the sum of the two areas?

Answer:

A + B = 63

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Represent the area of Tomato with A and area of Radish with B

So:

A = 35

B = 28

The sum of the two areas is therefore:

Sum = A + B

Substitute 35 for A and 28 for B

Sum = 35 + 28

Sum = 63

So, you either represent the model as:

Sum = 63

or

A + B = 63
