Sexual reproduction starts with the union of a sperm and an egg during the fertilization process. The zygote develops into an embryo which ultimately develops into a fetus.

Animals:

1. Egg cell + 2. Sperm cell = 4. Zygote           -> 6. Embryo -> 7. Fetus

Plant sexual reproduction:

Here the pollination process takes place first in which sex cells of plant that areOvum and pollen met. After the pollination, the fusion of both sex cells takes place that is called fertilization, and gives rise to fertilized egg known as a zygote and forms an embryo and develops into fruit or seed.
