The respiratory system expels carbon dioxide
Placenta abruptio placentae is the premature separation of the placenta from the uterine walls, therefore, limiting the blood and oxygen supply to the fetus. A mother who has a history of abruptio placentae in her previous pregnancy and a severe trauma or blow to the abdomen are at high risk of having partial abruptio placenta. We could not prevent this, however, here are nursing interventions to avoid it:
1. If the mother has a history of abruptio placentae during her previous pregnancy, she must inform her ob-gyn.
2. Avoid any strenuous activities, if possible. When riding a car, always wear your seatbelt.
3. Avoid taking in drugs, cocaine, cigarettes during pregnancy.
