MrRa [10]
Hemophilia is considered a sex-linked recessive disorder which means the disease does not occur if only one gene in a pair is abnormal.

Inheritance pattern of the offspring of a father who has hemophilia and a mother who does not have hemophilia and is not a carrier:
- all sons will be born normal
- all daughters will be carriers

Inheritance pattern of the offspring of a father who has hemophilia and a mother who is a carrier:
- 25% chance of having a hemophiliac son
- 25% chance of having a son with no hemophilia
- 25% chance of having a daughter who is a carrier
- 25% chance of having a hemophiliac daughter

Not all macromolecules are created equal. Explain why you would get more energy from eating a cheeseburger than you would from e
natulia [17]

Answer: Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy. The fruit, vegetables, dairy, and grain food groups all contain carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy but Fats give you more energy. They help the body absorb certain vitamins. Many foods naturally contain fats, including dairy products; meats, poultry, seafood, and eggs; and seeds, nuts, avocados, and coconuts.

The burger would have more energy from eating it because it has a large amount proteins in it that can help your body. A apple can give you energy too because it is a carbohydrate but it wouldn’t be enough.

Restate your position on the lines below in your own words. Do you support or oppose the elimination of lactose from the human d
kolezko [41]
It depends on the individual reaction to lactose. first, some individuals are considered lactose intolerant meaning they lack enzymes that break down lactose into glucose and galactose. hence, if they digest dairy products they can have severe symptoms that will affect their health. however individual who aren’t lactose intolerant benefit from digesting lactose containing products because it improves the individuals health by providing the body with sufficient amount of energy when lactose is broken down to glucose and galactose. Also, consuming Foods in the Dairy Group provide nutrients that are vital for health and maintenance of the body. over all, it all comes down to how an individual will react to such decisions when eliminating lactose. If this decision outweighs the disadvantages then I agree with it however if it doesn’t I completely disagree

What are 3 example for:
yulyashka [42]

Examples of positive and beneficial mutation:

 • Antibiotic resistance by bacteria
 • Almond tree gene mutation
 • Humans immunity to HIV

Examples of negative and harmful mutation

 • Cystic fibrosis
 • Frame shift mutation
 • Cancer

Examples of neutral mutation;

 • Bovine and human insulin
 • Silent point mutation
 • Missense mutation

What are mutation?

Mutations are results from change in gene structures that leads to variations in form that can be transferred or passed down to generations. This is usually caused by alterations in the single base unit of DNAs by insertion, deletion or rearrangement of genes or chromosomes.

Positive and beneficial mutations result in retained from of adaptation like antibiotic resistance by bacteria, harmful mutation causes harm such as cancer, while neutral has little or no effect example, silent mutations.
