Answer:

a) the probability of A students study for more than 10 hours per week

P(X>10) = 0.117

b) The probability that an student spends between 7 and 9 hour

P(7<x< 9) = 0.9522

Step-by-step explanation:

Step(I):-

Let 'X' be random variable of  the normal distributed with a mean of 7.5 hours and standard deviation of 2.1 hours

mean of the Population is = 7.5 hours

standard deviation of the Population = 2.1 hours

Z = \frac{x-mean}{S.D}

Z = 1.1904

The probability of A students study for more than 10 hours per week

P(X>10) = 0.5-A(Z₁) = 0.5 -A(1.1904) = 0.5 - 0.3830 = 0.117

Step(ii):-

Put x=7

Z = \frac{7-7.5}{2.1}= -0.238

put x=9

Z = \frac{9-7.5}{2.1} = 0.7142

The probability that an A student spends between 7 and 9 hour

P(7 < x< 9) = A(9) - A(7)

                 = 0.7142 +0.238

= 0.9522

Simplify the expression and find its value when a = 5 and b = -3 .
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

\sf\longmapsto \: 38

Step by step explanation:

\sf\longmapsto \:  2a² + 2ab +3-ab

\sf\longmapsto \:  2a² + 3 + ab (2-1)

\sf\longmapsto \: 2a² + 3 + ab (1)

\sf\longmapsto \:  2a² + 3 + ab

\sf\longmapsto \:  2a² + ab + 3

  • Putting a = 5 b = - 3

\sf\longmapsto \: 2(5) {}^{2}  + (5) (-3) +3

\sf\longmapsto \:  2 (25) - 15 + 3

\sf\longmapsto \: 50 - 12

\sf\longmapsto \: 38

A local grocery store decides to offer a free piece of fresh fruit (banana or apple) to all shoppers in the produce department.
xxMikexx [17]

The generalization that can be made from this study is that: Given the choice of a banana or an apple, twice as many shoppers will select an apple.

<h3>How to arrive at the generalization.</h3>

More of the shoppers are said to select an apple from the group of shoppers who are to but either banana or apple.

Those buying an apple are two times the people buying the banana, hence we can conclude that twice as many shoppers would choose the apple over banana.
