Why was slavery important to the economy in the south before the Civil war?
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Slavery was importnat to the economy because the South grew cotton crops, and the crops needed to be harvested. There weren't machines at the time, so the next best thing was manual labor, and for that, they needed slaves. The slaves were picking the cotton and the South was making profit off of it. It was inhumane for the slaves to be working in such harsh conditions, but the money that the south was making was supporting its economy

How did the oil boom have an economic impact on Texas?
Marysya12 [62]

Explanation:

The Texas oil boom, sometimes called the gusher age, was a period of dramatic change and economic growth in the U.S. state of Texas during the early 20th century that began with the discovery of a large petroleum reserve near Beaumont, Texas. The find was unprecedented in its size (worldwide) and ushered in an age of rapid regional development and industrialization that has few parallels in U.S. history. Texas quickly became one of the leading oil-producing states in the U.S.

Why did the Confederate soldiers not pursue the Union soldiers at the Battle of Bull Run?
kirill115 [55]
The reason that they did this was because they truly didn't have much of a choice. Back then, soldiers had a different formation that we see now like in CoD or Battlefield. and even though they didn't know how many soldiers were down there, they didnt want to risk it. they also were not sure if it was worth it to charge the soldiers because of the fact that there wasn't much to salvage down in their camp if they won.

hope this helps :)
