b=9

If b=9, then the i's will cancel out in the middle. When you multiply the two i's together, it makes 27i^2, and i sqaured is negative one so it would be negative 27. -18i and 18i would cancel, and you'll multiply 2 and 6 to get 12.

-27+12=-15

sorry, I edited it and meant b. Sorry about that! b=9

(2-3i)(6+9i)

12+18i-18i-27i^2

12+27i^2

12-27

-15

The distance between city E and F is 678.35 miles and the distance between city F and G is 156.8 miles. What is the distance bet
Free_Kalibri [48]

E to F = 678.35 miles
F to G = 156.8 miles
G to H = x
Total distance = 2,457 miles
E to G = 678.35 + 156.8 miles
E to G = 835.15
G to H = 2,457 - 835.15
G to H = 1621.85 miles

Use the law of cosines to find the length of side C.
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer:

\text{D. 36.64}

Step-by-step explanation:

The Law of Sines is given by \frac{a}{\sin A}=\frac{b}{\sin B}=\frac{c}{\sin C} and works for any triangle.

Therefore, we have the proportion:

\frac{c}{\sin 41.5^{\circ}}=\frac{37}{\sin 42^{\circ}},\\\\c=\frac{37\sin 41.5^{\circ}}{\sin 42^{\circ}}=36.6399945706\approx \boxed{36.64}
