Answer:

1. 5(3+9) = <u>(5 x 3) + (5 x 9)</u>

2. (7+8)6 = <u>(6 x 7) + (6 x 8)</u>

3. 51 x 9 + 51 x 31 = 459 + 1581 = <u>2040</u>

4. 17 x 13 + 51 x 13 + 32 x 13 = 221 + 663 + 416 = <u>1300</u>

These should all be right :)

I used PEMDAS and the distributive property.

Answer: 16) y=-0.5x+3 and 17) y=2x-3

Step-by-step explanation:

16: The slope-intercept form of a line is y=mx+b, where m is the slope, and b is the y-value at the y-intercept.

Since y=3 at x=0, the y-intercept is (0,3), and b=3.

Slope=\frac{y_{2} -y_{1} }{x_{2}-x_{1}  } where (x_{1} ,y_{1}) and (x_{2} ,y_{2}) are two points on the line. Choose (0,3) and (2,2):

Slope=\frac{2-3}{2-0}=-0.5

Plug m=-0.5 and b=3 into y=mx+b:

y=-0.5x+3

17: The slope-intercept form of a line is y=mx+b, where m is the slope, and b is the y-value at the y-intercept.

Because y=-3 at x=0, the y-intercept is (0,-3), and b=-3.

Slope=\frac{y_{2} -y_{1} }{x_{2}-x_{1}  } where (x_{1} ,y_{1}) and (x_{2} ,y_{2}) are two points on the line. Choose (0,-3) and (1,-1):

Slope=\frac{-3-(-1)}{0-1}=\frac{-2}{-1}=2

Plug m=2 and b=-3 into y=mx+b:

y=2x-3

There are 96 girls in a junior class of 176 students. Find the ratio of girls to boys.
Tatiana [17]
To find the ratio of girls to boys, you first will subtract 176-96. This will give you 80, which now leads you to the next step. Now since you have the amount of guys you have the solution to the final ratio. 96:80 is the ratio of girls to boys, simplified the ratio is 6:5.
