(1) Homework has more negative effects on children and teenagers than positive effects. (2) Hours of schoolwork after the school
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

Sentence 5.

I just took quiz on Edg and sentence 4 is WRONG.

And if you actually read the question, "Which sentence contains a rebuttal to the counterclaim in the paragraph?"

it's not asking for the counterclaim, but the rebuttal to the counterclaim. Although the counterclaim is found in sentence 4, the rebuttal is found in sentence 5.

There are few conflicts evident here.

- man v man
- man v self
- man v school board (society)

I'll choose man v self and man v man.

Marcus faces a man v man conflict. Mr. Benson has apprehended him for essentially attacking his substitute teacher, "like some kind of fundamentalist." Marcus, becoming more and more inflamed steps up to Mr. Benson and says a few choice words. Thus doing so, Mr. Benson fundamentally threatens Marcus with expulsion. Marcus, now battling within himself (man v self) contemplates on whether he should back down, or defend his cause. He meditates over the consequences and eventually decided to ignore all the odds; freedom meant more to him than reputation.
