The way how most of the expedition acted around the Native Americans were drastically different from other settlers. The Expedition tried to build up US and Native American relationships, while most of the settlers just wanted to take advantage of the Native Americans and get as much benefit as possible.

The reason for this is the Lewis & Clark expedition was the pathway to the westward expansion, for they brought the news that the land to the west is good for settling
