Answer:

There can be no doubt that taxation without proper representation set the stage for the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolutionary War. Britain’s debt skyrocketed in the decade before the war and King George III made matters worse by wrongly thinking a heavier tax burden was the solution.

By 1763, taxes were intolerable in Britain and still rising. Previous advisors to the king avoided the issue of taxing the colonies because it was unpopular on both sides of the Atlantic. But during the next four years, the British Parliament began passing laws to raise money through taxing the American colonists. These laws caused severe financial hardships in the colonies and began to engender anger toward the British government. Four acts instituted during this period can be seen as the prelude to the inevitable revolt that would follow.

The Sugar Act (1764)

The Sugar Act placed a tax on molasses, sugar, and other products imported into the American colonies from places outside the British Empire. A similar law, called the Molasses Act, had been passed in 1733, but the people had not obeyed for two reasons:

Strike441 [17]
Hello! Ceuta was a Spanish territory located in the northern coast of Africa. Persian Gulf is between Saudi Arabia and Iran, plus it also connects to the Indian Ocean. That is not even close to the Mediterranean Sea, or Spain. C is out. Southern Africa is way too far deep and far away from where Ceuta is located. D is out. A is out, because Siberia is a part of Russia, and Ceuta had nothing to do with Russia. Therefore, the answer is D.

How were mccarthys accusations against the state department reflective of earlier developments
Evgen [1.6K]

Mccarthy's accusations against the state department were reflective of earlier developments through his accusations that triggered a series of events that defined the Division of Security’s course for the next decade.

First, there was an establishment of a Congressional committee which called several former and current Department of State officers and advisers to testify and answer charges about their loyalty to redouble its efforts on background investigations of its employees. Second, one Department official’s was reluctant to admission which accidentally triggered a purge of gays at the Department. Thirdly, there was an establishment of the Congressional subcommittee that studied physical security at United States posts overseas, where its report led to increased resources allocation for overseas security.

Mccarthy's had announced that he possessed a list of 205 members of the Communist Party who were “working and shaping policy” in the Department of State.
