2^{-5} = \dfrac{1}{2^5} = \dfrac{1}{32}

3^{-2} = \dfrac{1}{3^2} = \dfrac{1}{9}

5^{-4} = \dfrac{1}{5^4} = \dfrac{1}{25^2} = \dfrac{1}{625}

(3^3)^{-2} = 3^{-6} = \dfrac{1}{3^6} = \dfrac{1}{9^3} = \dfrac{1}{729}

\dfrac{1}{4^{-4}} = 4^4 = 16^2 = 256

\dfrac{1}{2^{-5}} = 2^5 = 32

(5^{-3})^{-2}=5^6 = 15625 \quad

needed the calculator for that one

\dfrac{4}{5^{-2}} = 4 \cdot 5^{2} = 4 \cdot 25 =100

3^{6} \times 3^{-2} = 3^{6 - 2} = 3^4 = 9^2=81

4^{-8} \times 4^5 = 4^{-3} = \dfrac{1}{4^3} = \dfrac{1}{64}

Mr.Johnson weighs 135 pounds. Her husband weighs 80 kilogram. How many fewer pounds does Ms.Johnson weigh than her husband?
sweet-ann [11.9K]
First you convert kilograms to pounds,
1 kilogram = 2.205 pounds
next you times the number of pounds per kilogram by the number of kilograms given that need to be turned into pounds.
80 times 2.205 = 176.4
next you subtract to get the answer
176.4 - 135= 41.4
so Ms. Johnson weighs 41.4 pounds less than herr husband

Suppose the circumference of a circle is \color{blue}{16\pi}16πstart color blue, 16, pi, end color blue. what is its radius?
Sauron [17]
<span>The circumference of a circle is equal to its diameter multiplied by pi. Since the circumference here is 16*pi, the diameter of the circle is 16 units. The diameter of a circle is two times the radius, so we divide 16 in half and find our result that the radius is 8 units.</span>

Given m||n, find the value of x.<br> +<br> (5x+16)<br> mm<br> (6x-7)
kupik [55]

Based on the definition of congruent angles, the value of x is: 23.

<h3>What are Congruent Angles?</h3>

Congruent angles have the same measure. Examples of angles that are congruent are:

  • Alternate interior angles
  • Alternate exterior angles
  • Corresponding angles

Thus:

(5x + 16) = (6x - 7) -- congruent angles

Combine like terms

5x - 6x = -16 - 7

-x = -23

x = 23

Therefore, based on the definition of congruent angles, the value of x is: 23.

Describe how to determine if a number is a solution to an equation.
marin [14]

Step-by-step explanation:

Determine whether a number is a solution to an equation.

Substitute the number for the variable in the equation.

Simplify the expressions on both sides of the equation.

Determine whether the resulting equation is true. If it is true, the number is a solution. If it is not true, the number is not a solution.
