Determine the quantity needed to replace the question mark to make the scale balance The weight times the distance on both sides
Mariana [72]

Solution :

Given

$W_1$ = weight of the first side

    = 6 kg = 6000 g

$D_1$ =  distance of the first weight from the triangle.

     = 3 m = 300 cm

$D_2$ = distance of the first weight from the triangle.

    =  600 cm

Let, $W_2$ = weight of the second side

So,  $W_1$ x $D_1$  = $W_2$ x $D_2$

or  $W_2=\frac{W_1 \times D_1}{D_2}$

  $W_2=\frac{6000\times 300}{600}$

        = 3000 g

Therefore, the quantity that is used to replace the question mark in order to make the scale balance is 3000 g.

Explain how you can determine the annual percent increase when looking at an exponential function for a city population . Answer
Andru [333]

Answer:

The annual increase in the percentage of a pollution can be determined by some mathematical calculation.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • In order to determine the annual percentage increase over one year for a city population, we must do the following,
  • First we must subtract starting value that is the initial population of the city  at the starting of the year from the final value that is the final population of the city at the end of the year.
  • Now divide the whole by the starting value.
  • This gives you the value of increase in the rate of growth, Now inorder to obtain it in percentage format, we must multiply the resultant value by 100.

This finally gives you the rate of increase in the population in percentage.
