Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

  • He starts out with 30
  • He adds 5 coins each month
  • x represents the number of months

>60 means greater than 60

So the inequality would be 30 + 5x > 60

A necklace regularly sells for $18.00. the store advertises a 15% discount. what is the sale price of the necklace in dollars
SSSSS [86.1K]
I can solve with 2 methods:

I. Because the discount is 15 % of 18 $ , the price will be (100-15=85) 85 % of 18 $
18*85/100= 15,3 $ ( the sale price)

II. The discount is 15 % of 18$
15*18/100= 2,7$  ( the discount)
then I decrease it from the regularly price
18$-2,7$=15,3 $ (the sale price)

Personally I believe the first is an easier method.
I hope you understand and you can apply this in every similary problem.

3. What is the scale factor of Figure B to Figure A?
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

From the diagram, figure B was enlarged to obtain figure A.

The two figures are therefore similar.

The corresponding sides are in the same proportion. That constant value of the proportion is called scale factor.

It is given by:

k =  \frac{image \: length}{corresponding\:object \: length}

Figure B is the image of A

k =  \frac{10}{4}  =  \frac{25}{10}  = \frac{21.5}{8.6} =   2.5

Therefore the scale factor is 2.5

At a strawberry stand Luisa paid $4.50 for 2 pounds of strawberries. How much would you expect to pay for five pounds or strawbe
Daniel [21]

<u>Half</u> of 4.50 is 2.25, so for <u>one</u> pound it would be <u>$2.25</u>.

To calculate five pounds, you need to add 2.25+2.25+2.25+2.25+2.25 = <u>11.25</u>.

For <u>five</u> pounds of strawberry's, it would cost <u>$11.25</u>.

Hope this helped !

Rectangles J and K are similar. If the area of rectangle J is 440, what is the area of rectangle K? I need this today
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

Area = 27.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

J_{Area} = 440

J_{Width} = 22

K_{Width} = 5.5

<em>See attachment</em>

Required

Determine the area of K

First, we need to calculate the length of the rectangle  J

J_{Length} * J_{Width} = J_{Area}

This gives:

J_{Length} * 22 = 440

Divide both sides by 22

\frac{J_{Length} * 22}{22} = \frac{440}{22}

J_{Length} = 20

So, the length of the rectangle J is 20.

Since both shapes are similar, then:

J_{Length} : J_{Width} = K_{Length} : `K_{Width}

Substitute the known values:

20 : 22 = K_{Length} : `5.5

Express as fraction:

\frac{20 }{ 22 }= \frac{K_{Length} }{ `5.5}

Make Length, the subject of formula

K_{Length} = \frac{5.5 * 20}{22}

K_{Length} = \frac{110}{22}

K_{Length} = 5

The area of K is:

Area = K_{Length} * K_{Width

Area = 5.5 * 5

Area = 27.5
