Answer:

y²+6y+9

Step-by-step explanation:

Use FOIL(First, inner, outer, last) to distribute the (y+4)² to get to y²+8y+16. You will then distribute in -2(y+4) to get -2y-8. You will then combine like terms, adding in the +1, to get to your answer.

To solve this problem, let us first define what a median is. A median is a line segment that connects a vertex and the midpoint of the side opposite to that vertex.

<span>In this case, the vertex is point A while the opposing side is side CB. Since it connects to the midpoint of CB, therefore this means that the median AD equally divides side CB into 2 parts.  Since the length side CB is the sum of the lengths side CD and side BD. Therefore this means that:</span>

length of CD = length of BD

length of CD = 24

Alice cycles to Carla's house at 12 mph and returns by car at 36 mph. If the round trip takes 1 hour, how far away from Carla do
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

Alice lives <u>9 miles</u> far away from Carla.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Alice cycles to Carla's house at 12 mph and returns by car at 36 mph.

If the round trip takes 1 hour.

Now, to find the distance from Carla to Alice house.

So, let the distance between the houses of Carla and Alice be x.

Now, we solve by using the formula:

Distance/speed = time

Alice cycles to Carla house = \frac{x}{12}

And return by car = \frac{x}{36}

Time taken for round trip = 1 hour.

Adding both the distance to get the value of x:

\frac{x}{12}+\frac{x}{36}=1

=\frac{3x+x}{36}=1

=\frac{4x}{36}=1

<em>Dividing both sides by 4 we get:</em>

x=9

Therefore, Alice lives 9 miles far away from Carla.

Solve for x <br> 3x-4=26<br><br> i need help
Archy [21]
Answer; x=10

add the 4 and 26 which is 30, so the equation then would be; 3x=30 and that’s how you get 10 as you answer.

hope this helped you out!

X²>49
well, I don't know a formula but this is how I would solve it
I first solve x²=49 to obtain x=+/-7

so then would it be x>+/-7?
if we try 8 it works
if we try -9 it works

so answer is x>+/-7
basically x<-7 or x>7
