Answer:

Please find the explanation below

Explanation:

Sexual reproduction is the kind of reproduction that requires two organisms (male and female) to form an offspring. The male organism produces gametes called SPERM while the female organism produces gametes called EGG. These two gametes come together in a process called FERTILIZATION to produce a zygote, which develops into an offspring.

In sexual reproduction, gametes are produced by organisms involved via a process called MEIOSIS. Meiosis, however, reduces the chromosome number of the gametes by half. However, one process unique to only meiosis and sexual reproduction is called CROSSING OVER.

Crossing over is the process whereby chromosome segments is exchanged between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosome. This process causes a recombination of chromosomes (alleles) in such a way that the gametes will be genetically different from the parent organisms (genetic variation). According to this question, sexual reproduction leads to more genetic variation than asexual reproduction due to the process of CROSSING OVER that occurs in sexual reproduction.

Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

Mitochondria and some prokaryotes share similar metabolic reactions that produce ATP.

Correct. The observation that mitochondria and some prokaryotes share similar metabolic reactions that produce ATP supports the model that mitochondria are endosymbionts that originated from a free-living prokaryote.

Answer:

Matter

Explanation:

Matter refers to the atoms, molecules, compounds which we are composed of and our surrounding is made of.

The law of conservation of mass was proposed by the Antoine Lavoisier who stated that mass neither gained nor lost but changed its form from one form to another in his experiments.

The same law of conservation of mass applies to the biological organisms as like living things they are also made up of the matter. The metabolism of the chemical reaction taking place in the living organism is evidence of the law of conservation of mass.

Thus, the matter is correct.

Energy is released to be used by a cell when a phosphate group is ?
Gekata [30.6K]

Energy is released to be used by a cell when a phosphate group is Removed from ATP to form ADP.

Answer: C. Removed from ATP to form ADP

Explanation:

Three important energy carrier molecules in a cell are: ATP (Adenosine triphosphate, NADPH (Nicotinamide Adenosine Dinucleotide Phosphate) and FADH2. All the three carrier molecules play an important role in cellular respiration and photosynthesis.

One NADH molecule is equal to 3 ATP molecule while 1 FADH2 molecule is equal to 2 ATP molecule. During the active process, ATP is used as a form of energy because ATP dephosphorylates to ADP and Inorganic phosphate, Pi and release energy.
