Answer:

1

Step-by-step explanation:

If there isn't a number in front of a variable then always assume is is one.

For example, look at this equation:

x + 3y = 16

See how there is no number in front of the x?

It can't be 0 in front of the x because 0 times anything is zero, right?

Therefore, it has to be a one.

So, the equation above could be written like this:

1x + 3y = 16

In mathematics it is just automatically assumed that if a term doesn't have a number in front of the variable, then the coefficient of that term is 1.

I hope this helps!

What is the center and radius of the circle with equation x2 + y2 + 6x + 16y + 64 = 0?
almond37 [142]
Hello,

By making factors:
x^2+y^+2+6x+16y+64=0\\
x^2+6x+9+y^2+16y+64-9=0\\
(x+3)^2+(y+8)^2=9\\
radius=3

Help with solving this Functions problem
bija089 [108]

Answer:

See answers below

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following functions:

r(x) = x - 6

s(x) = 2x²

r(s(x)) = r(2x²)

Replacing x with 2x² in r(x) will give;

r(2x²) = 2x² - 6

r(s(x)) = 2x² - 6

(r-s)(x) = r(x) - s(x)

(r-s)(x) = x - 6 - 2x²

Rearrange

(r-s)(x) = - 2x²+x-6

(r+s)(x) = r(x) + s(x)

(r-s)(x) = x - 6 + 2x²

Rearrange

(r-s)(x) = 2x²+x-6
