Summarize the US approach to advancing human rights and democracy since the Carter Administration

History

In this human-rights-friendly environment, Jimmy Carter was elected president in 1976. Carter has justly received much attention for emphasizing human rights as part of his administration's diplomacy; he did not, however, invent the issue. Gaddis Smith has, along with other writers, shown that, in Smith's words, "Carter joined the crusade and made it his own." The principle impetus came from Congress, to the point that even such a strong supporter of human rights as Carter found himself arguing that Congress took human rights considerations too far. Still, Carter was more committed to promoting human rights than any other president into the early twenty-first century, in both words and action. As he wrote in his memoirs, "Our country has been strongest and most effective when morality and a commitment to freedom and democracy have been most clearly emphasized in our foreign policy."

Which conclusion does this graph most support?
Alex73 [517]

The conclusion about the product demand graph is; C: Product A has more elastic demand than product B.

How to Interpret Equilibrium Demand Graphs?

The graph given shows us the quantity demanded for 2 products in relation to their prices.

From the given graph, we can conclude that product A is more responsive to a change in price, compared to how responsive product B is to a change in price.

Thus, a change in the price of commodity A causes a greater change in the quantity demanded, compared to a change in quantity demanded for product B, with almost the same change in price.

What is the history of sewing machines in 3 paragraphs
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

In France, the first mechanical sewing machine was patented in 1830 by tailor Barthélemy Thimonnier, whose machine used a hooked or barbed needle to produce a chain stitch. Unlike his predecessors, Thimonnier actually put his machine into production and was awarded a contract to produce uniforms for the French army.

Industrial sewing machines, in combination with the cotton gin, the spinning jenny, and the steam engine, made clothing production much easier and much cheaper. People could now afford to buy more clothing more often, marking the beginnings of the clothing industry that we see today.

Elias Howe patents the first practical sewing machine and threads his way into the fabric of history. French tailor Barthelemy Thimonnier patented a device in 1830 that mechanized the typical hand-sewing motions to create a simple chain stitch.

to what extent did the economic developments and living conditions attract settlers to the English colonies in the New World??
algol13

Answer:

The businessmen controlling the colony from London knew nothing about living in such a wild place. They wanted the settlers to search for gold, and explore local rivers in hopes of finding a way to the East. One settler knew this was wrong. His name was Captain John Smith. He helped the colonists build houses and grow food by learning from the local Indians. Still, the Jamestown settlers continued to die each year from disease, starvation and Indian attacks.

The other early English settlements in North America were much to the north, in what is today the state of Massachusetts. The people who settled there left England for reasons different from those who settled in Jamestown. The Virginia settlers were looking for ways to earn money for English businesses. The settlers in Massachusetts were seeking religious freedom.
