This is also an adverb of manner and modifies the verb llevar whose conjugation in this sentence is llevaron matching the third person plural in the the preterite tense.

This is an adverb that translates into fortunately  and means here thatit is fortunate that the child did not suffer damages. In conclusion, a lot of adverbs can also be formed with adjectives by using the following formula:
