Write the equation of a line perpendicular to y=-12x+2 going through (0,-1)
DanielleElmas [232]

             \rule{50}{1}\large\blue\textsf{\textbf{\underline{Question:-}}}\rule{50}{1}

          <em>Write the equation of a line perpendicular to y=-12x+2 going </em>

<em>            through (0, -1)</em>

<em />

<em>      </em>\rule{50}{1}\large\blue\textsf{\textbf{\underline{Answer and how to solve:-}}}\rule{50}{1}

        First, let's take a look at our provided information:-

  • A line \text{y=-12x+2}
  • A point (0, -1)
  • The line \text{y=-12x+2} is perpendicular to the line that goes through (0, -1)

     If two lines are perpendicular to each other, their slopes are opposite reciprocals of each other.

   So we take the slope of the given line, which is -12, change its sign from minus to plus:-

\Large\textit{12}

And now, We flip the number over:-

\Large\text{$\displaystyle\frac{1}{12}$}

Now that we've found the slope of the line, let's find its equation.

     The first step is to write it in point-slope form as follows:-

\longmapsto\sf{y-y_1=m(x-x_1)}

Replace letters with numbers,

\longmapsto\sf{y-(-1)=\displaystyle\frac{1}{12}(x-0)}

On simplification,

\longmapsto\sf{y+1=\displaystyle\frac{1}{12} (x-0)}

On further simplification,

\longmapsto\sf{y+1=\displaystyle\frac{1}{12} x}

Subtracting 1 on both sides,

\longmapsto\sf{y=\displaystyle\frac{1}{12} x-1}

100 POINTS!!! Orthographic projection and isometric projection are two ways to show three-dimensional objects in a two-dimension
shutvik [7]

Example 1:

The pros of Orthographic is that they can show hidden details and all of the connecting parts, they can be annotated to display material and finishes. The pros of Isometric projection is that they dont need many views and it gives accuracy, cons are is created a unorginized apperance by the lack of foreshortening, I would choose Isometric projection because it shows the size of the figure.

Example 2:

Orthographic projection is a good option for showing lots of detail and small things. The limitation is that with all of that detail, they can become quite messy and hard to understand to someone new to them. However, that is one of the pros of Isometric projection. It gives easy detail and is just as good as an Orthographic. Personally, I find Isometric projections easier to interpret.

If A = {1, 2, 3} and B = {1, 2, 2, 3}, is B ⊆ A? If so, is A = B?
Serjik [45]

Answer:

yes, yes

Step-by-step explanation:

B={1,2,3} it doesn't matter if it has ten 2's or one!

so A=B and A⊆B

The diameters of cherry tomatoes produced by a large farm have an approximately Normal distribution, with a
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer: D. 0.9967

Step-by-step explanation: To solve this, you need to do the z-score formula with both numbers. So 30-22/2.5 = 3.2. On the z-score chart, that equals .9993. Hold onto that number. Then you do the same with 15. 15-22/2.5 = -2.8. On the z score chart, that equals .0026. Subtract those numbers. .9993 - .0026 = .9967. It's not as compacted as it looks <3

Last week, the price of cherries at the corner deli was $4.99 per pound. This week, cherries at the same deli are on sale at a 1
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer:

The price for 3.75 pounds of cherries is $17.775.

Step-by-step explanation:

The price las week was $ 4.99 and it got a discount of 15% for this week, this means that the price for this week is 100% of the one prior minus 15%, therefore it is 85% of the last price. We need to calculate the price per pound with this discount as shown below:

\text{this week} = \text{last week}*\frac{95}{100}\\\\\text{this week} = 4.99*0.95 = 4.74 \text{ per pound}\\

Since the price is $4.74 per pound and we want to buy 3.75 pounds, then the total amount we need to pay is:

\text{total amount} = 3.75*4.74 = 17.775

The price for 3.75 pounds of cherries is $17.775.
