Which pair of lines from Emily Dickinson's "Because I could not stop for Death" is an example of paradox?

English
1 answer:
In-s [12.5K]2 years ago
5 0

Answer:

Since then - 'tis Centuries - and yet

Feels shorter than the Day

Explanation:

A paradox is a self-contradictory statement to one's investigation that was found true. So an example would be save money by spending it. This is not the same as saving money TO spend it, because you're doing it for a reason. Saving money by spending would mean that you're not actually saving money, therefore you contradict yourself.

I chose these lines because they author is basically saying that it's been centuries since then, but it actually feels like it's been a shorter period.

How did England’s power struggles between the Catholic church and the state - King Henry II - lead to the Crusades in the holy l
kherson [118]

Answer:

Well one reason why they struggled was because the priest had higher authority than the king himself did but I don't really know why or how it lead to the crusades in the holy land. I'm sorry I couldn't help you fully but I tried.

Past simple Regular verbs exercises
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

- ied: cry, enjoy, bury, marry

-ed only: label, wait, stay, explain, fail, prefer

- d only: care, like, agree, use

double consonant +- ed : stop, jog, clap, hop

Explanation:

We form regular Past Simple verb forms by adding the termination -ed to the infinitive of the verb.

e.g. wait, stay, explain

However, there are some exceptions, as the result of the spelling rules.

If the verb ends in -e, we will add the termination -d:

e.g. care, like, use

If the verb ends in a vowel and a consonant, we double the consonant before -ed:

eg. stop, clap, hop

If the verb ends in consonant and -y, we take off the y and add -ied.

e.g. cry, enjoy, marry
