Answer:

Rasism isn't exactly what we think it is. You could say a slur not meaning what you said. For example if i call someone from india a "raghead" its a acial slur bc it's to offend them. From the civil war we have seen the Confederate flag, also known as the Rebel flag. People today say that is a form of racism, which it is not, it actually represents peace. Way back people, besides white men, was used as slaves bc of there skin tone. We have also seen tv shows took off of tv bc of that flag, such as the dukes of hazzard.

The ________ were greek citizen soldiers who fought together in a phalanx to make a formidable heavy infantry
jonny [76]
Ancient Greek-citizen soldiers who fought together in a phalanx were called Hoplites.

Hoplites were not professional soldiers but they comprised the bulk of ancient Greek armies of the time. They were mostly represented by free citizens such as propertied farmers and artisans who could afford the weapons and armors. Hoplites were primarily armed with shields and spears and often utilized the phalanx formation as an effective war strategy especially when battling with fewer soldiers.

The illustration below shows an example of a phalanx formation (Source: http://www.ancientgreekbattles.net/Pics/669505_PhalArgos.jpg).

Why was the controversy over the decision to annex Hawaii?
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Some reasons were that Native Hawaiians were against U.S. annexation, and the controversy of how US marines used force against the Queen Liliuokalani of Hawaii (held her at gunpoint) and also the fact that President Grover Cleveland himself was against annexation.
