Answer:

After a long day at school, nothing beats turning on your favorite video game. Sixty percent of Americans play video games on a regular basis. Although playing video games can seem to be a harmless way to unwind, it has a serious impact on your actions. A slew of recent scientific research suggests that playing video games excessively, especially those with gratuitous violence, can lead to serious psychological issues. Dopamine is released in the brain when you play video games. Dopamine is a chemical that helps people learn and concentrate, but it's also the same chemical that's released when they use drugs like cocaine. You could develop a gaming disorder if you spend too much time playing video games.

A gaming disorder is described by the World Health Organization as "a pattern of gaming activity characterized by impaired control over gaming, increasing priority given to other activities to the point where gaming takes precedence over other interests and daily activities, and continuation or escalation of gaming despite negative consequences." In other words, you can have a problem if you can't quit playing League of Legends because you're worried about finals. The best thing to do is to put the game down and concentrate on your studies. The issues you neglect will pile up and consume you if you make it a habit to stop them.

Gaming disorders are related to higher levels of loneliness, anxiety, depression, sleeping problems, social problems, and many other psychological-social problems, according to a systematic report published in the Journal of Health Psychology. You are not powerless if you are dealing with any of these issues. Negative emotion is the brain's way of alerting you that something is wrong. The issues at the root of your ailment will only get worse if you neglect them. Although it is true that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance, there are also things you can do to address this without resorting to pharmaceuticals. A study of dietary habits and depression risk found that a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fish, low-fat dairy, and other nutritious foods reduces depression risk. A healthy chemical equilibrium in the brain is also related to exercise and sleep habits.

In summary, If you have online friends, try meeting up with them in person and see how it goes. Or perhaps you should go for a walk. If video games are your only source of enjoyment and relaxation, you should probably get rid of them. It isn't that difficult. You'll note a drastic difference in your mood, relationships, and well-being once you've liberated your mind from the electronic screen jail. Take charge of your life and strive to become a healthier, stronger, wiser, and happier person.

Hope this helps you some.

Select the word from the drop-down menu that can be used in place of the phrase "carefully look over" in this sentence.
chubhunter [2.5K]
The correct answer is C. Analyze as it best replaces "carefully look over" in the sentence. Although the other answers are reasonable, it is the minor differences in denotations that make "Analyze" correct. It is not "Formulate" as it means to create something, rather it be an idea or physical object. "Differentiate" tends to mean more of a compare/contrast then the context clues imply here. Finally, "Calculate" generally means to solve something.
