The control group would be the group that got liquid, not cold medicine, the control group is the group with medicine, and the experimental would be the medicine itself.
The control group would be the people who got just the liquid. not medicine, because they are receiving nothing new...aka nothing has been changed from the ordinary. The experimental group would be group who received the cold medicine because it's the one who received a change to the normal condition. Basically they received a changed independent variable. Some controls of this experiment were that they were all women ages 20-30 and were normally healthy. Another control is that the people in both groups still had colds to begin with. Hope that helped!
