The correct answer is A) choices that are impossible to reverse.

In "Hills Like White Elephants," the impending journey to Madrid represents choices that are impossible to reverse.

In “Hills Like White Elephants” there is a big dilemma that the man and the girl are facing. The relationship between the man and the girl is complicated, maybe tense. It is dominated by silence. They barely talk to each other. And when they do, there is anger. They drink too much. Both do whatever is on their hands to avoid the tough conversation, the “white elephant” between the two. They need to make a decision on the girl’s pregnancy. Whatever decision they make, cannot be reversed. That is why many times choices that are impossible to reverse.

"Hills Like White Elephants" is a story written by the famous Ernest Hemingway, published in 1927.
