A parasite is a living thing  that can be transmitted in a variety of ways; Weather it be passed through the  bloodstream, from a bacterial infection, or through contaminated water, food, waste, and soil.. Some can even  be  passed through sexual contact. Some parasites are spread by insects or rodents  that act as a vector, or carrier, of the disease. When this happens  depending on the parasite or disease present its usually treated with medicine or shots meant to kill or weaken a parasite. A parasite can be prevented by taking the proper precautions such as wearing bug spray or cleaning open wounds even wearing a condom may help to protect you. Parasite can cause diseases such as malaria, cholera  or heartworm disease.
