Vincent Van Gogh's notorious "Starry Night" has the texture of a oily, yet soft touch to the eyes. When examined closer, you can see that the colors are mainly black, blue, and yellow. The space looking towards the mountains is magnificently done, for you can tell with a naked eye that they are far away. The pattern of the wind that is painted blue is also a very big part, you wouldn't be able to tell that there was wind in the background if not the hue's were different from the other colors.
