Hello! I'm did a unit similar to this! I believe the order is Plant Grasshopper Mouse Snake Hawk The plant is at the bottom of the food chain, because it provides energy, or nutrients, for other small organisms such as a grasshopper. The same goes for the grasshopper and the mouse, the mouse and the snake, and it keeps going till the hawk. The plant is considered a primary producer, because it provides energy for the grasshopper. However, the hawk is at the top of the food chain, because he is predator. In a way, he can be considered a producer for much bigger animals, but in this case, the hawk is at the top of this chain because he is the main predator in this situation. I hope this helps in some way!! Also if you have any other questions let me know! Biology is my FAVORITE subject, and I have multiple notes on this subject! XD
