Hi there!

The answer is 4) determining the true age of rock layers.

Relative dating is only used to determine the rocks in sequential order from oldest to newest, absolute dating can give an estimated time to the age of the rock.

Hope this helps!

Determine the correct order for the transmission of a signal through the nervous system.
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

A. I, IV, II, III, I

Explanation:

Living system can be defined as the internal systems of organisms and how materials circulate within organisms.

Generally, these living systems are self-organized life forms and are known to be very much interactive with their surroundings or environment. Also, living systems are dependent on the flow of information, matter and energy at various levels.

Some examples of living systems in organisms are respiratory system, nervous system, digestive system, and circulatory system.

Additionally, living systems comprises of the following components; cells, organs, muscle, tissues, blood, etc., which are typically used for carrying out various bodily functions such as respiration, metabolism, digestion, etc.

A sensory system can be defined as components of the central nervous system (CNS) which comprises of the brain, neural tissues or pathways and sensory neurons responsible for sensory functions, perception and processing sensory informations such as sound, light, heat, etc.

Basically, the central nervous system (CNS) interprete the neural signals that are generated from stimuli that are detected by the sensory system. The five (5) main sense organs in the sensory system are: skin, tongue, ears, nose and the eyes.

Generally, the nervous system found in living organisms such as humans, comprises of two (2) major components or systems; a central nervous system (CNS) and a peripheral nervous system (PNS).

The correct sequential order for the transmission of a signal through the nervous system;

1. Nerve impulse is triggered.

2. Synaptic vesicles release neurotransmitters.

3. Neurotransmitters diffuse across synaptic cleft.

4. Receptors bind neurotransmitters.

5. The whole process is started all over again when the nerve impulse is triggered.

uncontrolled cell division can lead to the formation of masses of cells that can remain in place called ____ tumors or ones that
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

Uncontrolled cell division can lead to the formation of masses of cells that can remain in a place called primary tumors or ones that can move called metastatic tumors.

Explanation:

The term primary tumor refers to the original tumor, a place where the tumor first appeared.

Metastatic tumors are tumors that appear in other organs and originate from the primary tumor. Tumor cells can break away from the primary tumor and travel to other locations in the body through the blood or lymph system and form new tumors. This is how metastatic tumors appear.

For example, a brain tumor is a primary tumor if it first appeared in the brain. A metastatic brain tumor is a tumor that appeared in another organ and then spread to the brain.

Nitella [24]

These types of signals are observed when there is a cut on the body. The epidermal cells lose contact with one another and divide faster until they are in contact once again. After they come into contact, division slows down again.
