Social Studies

There are many differences between General and Sport journalism (which I am assuming you are referring to):

  • General news would be considered "Hard news" while Sport news would be considered "Soft news".
  • "Sports journalism started in the early 1800s when it was targeted to the social elite and transitioned into an integral part of the news business with newspapers having dedicated sports sections. The increased popularity of sports amongst the middle and lower class led to the more coverage of sports content in publications."

I mean, self explanatory excerpt from Wikipedia.

Honestly, too tired to think of more differences but I'm sure you can easily to think of more.
