Answer:

Clean cooking refers to an initiate that tries to promote clean cooking habits in developing countries, e.g. cook with clean water, use a gas stove instead of wood or coal, etc.

People living in developed nations probably cannot understand how difficult it is for people living in very poor nations to be able to do certain basic things like cook a healthy meal. The efforts and money needed to change this are enormous and it requires that multiple stakeholders get involved.

The governments of developing countries must participate by allowing their people access to basic technologies like a stove or range. Many times, some kitchen appliances are extremely expensive in poor countries due to high taxes or other artificial barriers created or sponsored by governments. E.g. I have a friend in Argentina who recently purchased a GE refrigerator and paid more than $2,000 (US dollars) for a refrigerator that costs less than $500 in the US. Over 60% of the refrigerator's price are taxes.

Local businesses have to get involved because they are the ones that should guarantee that average citizens can afford kitchen appliances at reasonable prices. If local businesses are not willing to sell or supply stoves at reasonably low prices, then this whole idea is useless.

Civil society must also participate since they are the main stakeholders in this initiative. If they do not accept and embrace this project, then the project will fail.

If actual overhead is greater than applied manufacturing overhead, then manufacturing overhead is: Select one:
raketka [301]

Answer:

a. under applied.

Explanation:

For computing, whether it is under applied or over applied first, we have to compute the predetermined overhead rate. The formula is shown below:

Predetermined overhead rate = (Total estimated manufacturing overhead) ÷ (estimated direct labor-hours)

Now we have to find the applied overhead which equal to

= Actual direct labor-hours × predetermined overhead rate

So, the ending overhead equals to

= Actual manufacturing overhead - applied overhead

= under-applied

If actual overhead is more than the applied overhead

Great Lake Glassware Company issues $1,121,000 of its 12%, 10-year bonds at 99 on February 28, 2018. The bonds pay interest o
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

The correct answer is option (D).

Explanation:

According to the scenario, the computation of the given data are as follows:

Total amount = $1,121,000

Bonds percentage = 12%

Bonds year = 10 years

Time period Feb.28 - Aug.31 = 6 months

Total interest expense = Cash payment of interest + Amortization of discount

So, Cash payment of interest = $1,121,000 × 12% × 6÷12

= $67,260

Amortization of discount = ( $1,121,000 × 1÷100) ÷ 20 = $560.5

So, Total interest expense = $67260 + $560.5 = $67,820.5 or $67,821

Hence, The journal entry is shown below.

Aug.31 Interest Expense A/c Dr $67,821

           To Cash A/c $67,260

To  Amortization of discount A/c $561

( Being interest expense is recorded)
