Our lives have changed a lot in the last 164 years! Here is how. Today are houses are hi-tech and functional,we are safe and war in our homes. But housing in the 1850s we small,ade out of wood,had a fireplace for heat,and had No electricity. Today in our houses we have electricity running through out our homes. Schools today are big,free,clean,and safe.As you all know,we have many teachers for different grades and have many students! But school in the 1850's we different because school was held in a 1 room house with 1 teacher,and kids from grade 1st-8th we all atenting. The children would then be belted as a punishment. As for food today we have 5 food groups and we also have yumy fast food access 24/7! But as then in 1800's they ate food grown on their own farms or fro the market,and they didn't have snickers or the fast foods we have today.And aslo as for clothing today we wear stylish clothes and clothes that are comfortable and cool looking. Back then in the 1850's clothes were plain,boring,white or gray,and were made to be comfortable. And for last but not least is are transportation today,We get around in planes,train,and automoblies such as cars. But transportation in the 1850's were different. They didn't have car,They used horse and buggy, or they walked! They just shows how in the 1800's people went through a tuff and more different life then we do have today.

The life in the late 1800s was very different from life today in many ways, for example, communication. Communication was really difficult in the late 1800s because there was no way to contact someone far away immediately. Some other differences are the transportation and jobs. If you continue to read more, you will learn more about the differences between the two time periods.

In many ways, life in the 1800s was much more difficult than it is today. Travel, for instance, was much slower. Instead of quick-moving airplanes that we have today, people in the late 1800s traveled by horses and trains, which was much slower. That made traveling in the 1800s a difficult thing.

In the late 1800s, long-distance communication was very difficult. Though there was a postal service, it was still slow and unreliable. Letters could take many weeks or even months to travel cross country. It is impossible to contact someone far away immediately. In contrast, today Americans communicate freely, inexpensively, and frequently over all distances with cell phones and other devices. This made communication so much easier that no matter how far away people are, you can always contact each other very.

Another difference between life back in the late 1800s and life today is the jobs people do. In the late 1800s, most people, children and adults, worked in farms, fields, and mills. While in today’s life, people do different jobs that they like and want to do. And children go to school instead of working with their parents. This shows how time changed the ways people do a living off of.

Of course, these are not all of the differences between the two time periods, but they do show how today's life is way more convenient than the late 1800s. Children don’t have to work now, instead they go to school; with technology, people can contact far away friends or family easily; last but not least, transportation has improved so much. Planes can get people to the other side of earth in one day, which was impossible in the late 1800s. From these examples, we can see that all of these changes brought better life for us and improved our way of living.
