The Upturned face tell a story of how two soldiers humorously argue about how to bury their comrade in the middle of the battle.
So, the tone of upturned face would be: somewhat humorous.
The mood would be: uneasy
C, Restate the question as a statement, its a writing strategy so none of the other ones would make sense.
A, simile. Similes make comparisons using like or as
so the first one (brushing your teeth)goes in the 2nd box(cause and effect)
the one next to that (school uniforms) is in the 4th box
3rd one (food) goes in compare and contrast
4th (studying) is for the first box.
5 th goes also in chronological order
6th goes in 3rd box
I searched the excerpt which name is conversational ballgames and after I read it I got to the conclusion that it is organized the following way:
1. First, the author COMPARES the western-style conversation with the tennis game and she says that they are similar because in the western style when the person who is talking introduce a topic then she/he is expecting the other person to agree or disagree and keep talking about the reasons why, she says that she only doesn’t wait for you to agree or disagree, she expected more than that. Just like in the tennis game, if you throw the ball you expect from the other person to hit it back.
2. And then, when the author talks about Japanese-style conversation, she says that it isn’t like tennis or volleyball at all; there, she CONTRASTS the Japanese-style conversation with the two other games saying how different the games are from the Japanese-style.
