This decision to trod on the road that's "less traveled by" may seem difficult but if one doesn't take chances, then there's always the question of "what if". So, with that been said, the speaker/ poet took the road that's "just as fair" as the other one, with an uncertain consequence. But that's what has made "all the difference" in his life. And he seemed happy about his decision and that he didn't regret it.
