Can someone help with this and explain answer please.

Because the triangles are similar the ratio of all the sides would be the same. So you need to find the ratio of the common sides and then use that ratio to find the unkown side.

In this picture sides FG = 52, FV would be the same side and is 24.

Dividing 24/52 = 0.461, so the unkown side WV would be 0.444 of it's common side HG.

HG = 39

39 * 0.461= 18.

The answer is C. 18

1 Javier has at most $15.00 to spend today. He buys a bag of pretzels and a bottle of juice for $2.59. If gasoline at this store
Art [367]

Answer:

Javier can buy <em>at maximum</em> about 3.7 gallons of oil.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let g represent the amount of gasoline in galloons.

We know that Javier has at most $15.00 to spend. In other words, the total cost after buying the snacks and gasoline must be <em>less than or equal to </em>15.

He already bought a snack and a drink for a total of $2.59.

And each gallon of gasoline costs $3.39.

So, we can write the following inequality:

2.59+3.39g\leq 15.00

To find how many galloons of gasoline Javier can buy, we will need to solve for g.

So, subtract 2.59 from both sides. This yields:

3.39g\leq12.41

Divide both sides by 3.39:

g\leq3.66

So, Javier can buy <em>at maximum</em> about 3.7 gallons of oil.

And we're done!

Find the area of the regular polygon.<br>Round to the nearest tenth.<br>16 ft
Sladkaya [172]

<u>Given</u>:

Given that the side of the regular polygon is 16 feet.

We need to determine the area of the polygon.

<u>Area of the polygon:</u>

The area of the polygon can be determined using the formula,

Area =\frac{s^2 n}{4 \ tan \frac{180}{n}}

where n is the number of sides,

s is the side length.

Substituting n = 3 and s = 16, we get;

Area =\frac{16^2 (3)}{4 \ tan \frac{180}{3}}

Simplifying, we get;

Area =\frac{(256) (3)}{4 \ tan \ 60}

Area = \frac{768}{6.928}

Dividing, we get;

Area = 110.85

Rounding off to the nearest tenth, we have;

Area = 110.9

Thus, the area of the regular polygon is 110.9 square units.
